Liberalism was originally about right-wing people that value liberty, economic freedom and individual freedom and individual rights. Later the term has been used by left-wing people and, as is today, a Liberal person is a left-wing person. The term has technically only changed in America, however, many other countries seem to also understand Liberalism as a left-wing ideology; it's still a right-wing ideology in some countries though. Classical Liberalism, like Neoliberalism, is a right-wing ideology.

You can have left-wing authoritarians as well as right-wing authoritarians. Therefore authoritarianism's opposite, valuing liberty, economic freedom, individual freedom, and individual rights isn't left-wing or right-wing either. The left and right can both value those things, just give different priorities to each aspect.

Classical Liberalism is right-wing. https://lemmy.sdf.org/post/1705738

A place for like-minded individuals who are hated by everyone for not being dumb. Welcome CLASSIC liberals. Firstly, remember to tag your posts in case they're NSFW; you can post general stuff here but try to keep the content on topic, even if in a more light-hearted way.
