Resolved. It was a Beehaw caching issue and not a Lemmy/PictRS issue.

Might be related to the caching were trying to do which is supposed to be reducing the bandwidth bot increasing it.
I've sent you one of the worst instances (~10mb avatar), however i'm guessing you've resolved this since i'm no longer seeing the issue.
I've noticed that as well when browsing on my phone, I zoomed in onto a comment and noticed the avatar wasn't blurry. I could zoom onto it more and more until it filled my screen and it still looked fine. Not great for user bandwidth as you say, and for the site servers either.
Is it me?
I don't see an avatar for your user?
Regardless, I think it's a server problem, not a people choosing large avatars problem, I think they should be resized automatically.
