Lemmy communities for Emacs (exploding-heads.com)
submitted 1 year ago by monnier@exploding-heads.com to c/emacs

Beside this one, I see there's also an Emacs community over at @emacs@lemmy.nl (tho apparently I'm still "subscribe pending" there, after several days). Any others out there?

That's all I'm aware of. Not really thriving sadly.

Perhaps it's partly since the subreddit functions pretty well for a subreddit. But I'd have hoped emacs types would have been more drawn to the foss-ier federation world.

There seems to be more on emacs.ch, but the Twitter-like Mastodon is much less conducive to discussion and conversation.

This too is what I have found. The emacs.ch folks have been really nice to me, a new user, particularly Louis, the owner.

@sping
@monnier@exploding-heads.com Maybe the browser-only UI is part of the problem?
