Saunas are great for so many ailments. I wish there were a more prevalent sauna culture in the west. I wish we even had something like onsen here. But too scary because exposed peepees.
Support Community for Amputees
This is a support community for amputees and their families, to discuss the issues facing those with limb loss in a safe, friendly environment.
Rules
- No gatekeeping. All amputations are painful and no amputation is worthier of respect than others. All amputations are welcome here.
- No soliciting
- No politics
- Limit graphic material to the strict minimum and tag it with NSFW
- Be nice and respectful
It depends on the culture.
In Finland for instance, if you enter a sauna with trunks or a speedo on, you'll get kicked out. It's forbidden to be clothed in a sauna.
Funny story: a Finnish friend of mine went on a business trip in the UAE. The hotel he was staying at had a sauna. So after his day's work, he went there... Finnish-stylee.
Not five minutes after sitting down, the police showed up: apparently someone reported him. He was almost taken away and charged with gross indecency, but he managed to convince 5-0 that he didn't think twice because it's perfectly normal in his country. Not so much in Arab countries though :)
