Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek signed a bill into law Tuesday that will increase punishments for people caught street racing in the state, the latest effort by lawmakers to crack down on dangerous and sometimes deadly street takeovers that have snarled city streets for years.

I live near 205… I'm okay with harsher penalties. Hopefully this also applies to racing on the interstate though it seems to be more in the neighborhoods.

As long as they have a reasonably definition for "street racing".

Yeah people use my small quiet residential street as a drag strip at least daily. I'm only glad that there aren't more kids in this neighborhood, a year ago there would've been elementary schoolers playing in the street and it's just a recipe for tragedy.
