On the first I expect a huge jump.

Yeah, I'd imagine so. I'm only briefly checking reddit now, and that's only through Relay. The second that becomes unavailable, I am officially done.

Have you tried Memmy? Personally I think it’s the best one so far

New here. Trying to understand how everything works. I signed up in lemmy.world, do i also need to sign up if i want to interact with other instances?

[-] MicroWave@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

No, you do not need to sign up if you don’t want to. You can subscribe to communities in other instances using your lemmy.world account.

Go here to search for communities to subscribe to: https://lemmy.world/communities

For example, searching for “news” shows you communities at lemmy.world as well as at other instances like @beehaw.org and @lemmy.ml.

Click on the community you want. Then click “Subscribe” on the side bar (Sidebar button if on mobile).

You love to see it

Really neat to be along for the ride. Hopefully this momentum continues and the whole "There's no viable alternative" narrative is emphatically proven both false and idiotic.

[-] MicroWave@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Change can be tough for a lot of people, but lately I've seen fewer redditors dissing on alternatives .

Now thats a healthy looking curve, nice!
