well, yeah, Element X is in pre-alpha. Of course it doesn't have feature parity with Element.

You're right, that is extremely confusing
production ready means the features that are implemented work reliably, not that all the features are implemented.

Nheko has this feature... I think cinny does as well... I wish gomuks did...

nheko is used by a lot of pinephone users. it works great on mobile. and as i type this, i'm realizing you meant for like a normal ass mobile phone... my bad lol.
edit - that said... and i don't know why this is so controversial given the self hosting option, I really like what beeper offers. But you do need a beeper account vs matrix (even tho its the same but I digress)

FWIW at my job using Slack threads are critical. I've never used threads anywhere else though. I think it just depends on the nature of the community.
We use them quite often in our mods community, so indeed it must depend on communities
