This is the birth of jazz/rock fusion.
Miles Davis birthed both The Cool and jazz/rock fusion
First of all, I'd say that In a Silent Way birthed Fusion more than this album, but Bitches Brew was probably more influential.
Also, Davis was also hugely responsible for modal jazz with Kind of Blue. An absolute landmark record and probably the biggest turning point in jazz.
