[-] ironeaglebird@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Party looks uncomfortable in that right corner.

[-] MHPengwingz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

For forks sake put Zinchenko on

[-] sensiblepuffin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Lol really? Is that how they're going to play it?

[-] sensiblepuffin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Looooooooooool you're serious now?

[-] HaleEndGrad@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 year ago

Prepare for prime Hodgsonball from Palace

[-] Arsenal4ever@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I don't know why Arteta doesn't make some changes at the hour mark. Trossard for Nketiah, even Gabriel for Tommy.

You get some fresh legs up top, and a solid defense.

Tangent: Holy shit we're lucky.

[-] Oneser@lemm.ee 2 points 1 year ago

Because you don't make changes when things are looking like the 2nd goal is around the corner and no one is struggling

[-] coygsu@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

He's a Pep disciple

[-] sensiblepuffin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

On a non-sarcastic note, I don't like how tired we look. Should be safe to assume we'll make at least two more fresh legs subs

[-] MHPengwingz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

We haven't looked a sharp as how we started last season, still fatigued

[-] MHPengwingz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I absolutely hope that NBC does not put Andros Townsend on more of the games, irritating af

[-] z2k_@lemmy.nz 2 points 1 year ago

Saying the palace non-penalty was the only thing the refs got wrong made me crack up laughing

[-] MHPengwingz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

So many cards this match it's like Christmas

[-] sensiblepuffin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

HOLD THE BALL

[-] ironeaglebird@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

All 11 of our players in defense.

[-] sensiblepuffin@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Oh, Oleks... you know you can't do that

[-] HaleEndGrad@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Odegaard and Eddie way too one-footed

[-] HaleEndGrad@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Nelli should have buried it😕😣

[-] HaleEndGrad@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 year ago

Maybe Zina for Kai? Tomiyasu status at LB.

[-] merc@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

If an opposing player held back a counter attack like that, we'd be demanding a yellow card. It's unfortunate, but he was in trouble when he got the first card for time wasting, he couldn't take that chance.

I wonder if this means that Gabriel will actually start the next match. I haven't been happy with this weird makeshift back 4 anyhow.

[-] Arsenal4ever@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Holding the ball for 8 seconds, not fouling a guy, red card.

Exactly, it was a counter and he was baited by the turn. It isn't enough for a yellow imo but it is still a foul. Whether or not it is a yellow is up to the refs discretion. Still you shouldn't be baited with a swivel like that at this level.

[-] merc@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago

You have to be aware you're on a yellow card too. Even if you get baited, you have to rely on your other defenders. He was in Palace's half at the time, so there was time to get back.

[-] coygsu@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Correct, he didn't have any situational awareness and Ayew took the contact and made it appear worse than it is

I'm glad to see this cynicism with fast starts from free kicks, but... perhaps.... maybe.... we could do something with it?

At least we're getting that call for us. Eze with we great skills.

[-] MHPengwingz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Bloody Christ Eddie......

[-] sensiblepuffin@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Pretty sure all of Palace's in-box touches came from Eze dancing around Rice

[-] ironeaglebird@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Odegaard with our first shot on target. Our captain doing it himself if he has too

[-] TheBig2023Meltdown@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

What a shot that was too

[-] ironeaglebird@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Eddie took on 2 defenders well. Did it all right except the finish.

[-] MHPengwingz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Jorgi coming on...

[-] ironeaglebird@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

We're going to pass them to death. Lol

Saka doing just enough to keep him off balance but not fouling.
