We really need to stop calling these out by their self-selected names. It gives them more notoriety than they deserve.

Just call them “Extortion scumware 387A” etc. and over time we can group them in groups such as “scumware family 97”.

Enough to track them for blue team defenses, especially when combined with MITRE TTPs.
