Do you know roasteries that sell decaf coffee beans?
I’d like to brew coffee more often, occasionally in the evening, but I can’t because of caffeine, also I know people who definitely feel much worse effect I would be glad to offer a good pour over to sometimes, so I’m looking for some websites which sell a decent selection of decaf beans, preferably treated with the Swiss water process. Also I live in Italy so due to recent events it would much more convenient to buy from European sources

Counter Culture Coffee out of North Carolina has a decaf and a half caf option

Magnolia Coffee is also in North Carolina and has a decaf Brazil that I personally like just a little more than Counter Culture. They are both solid options.

Illy sells a decaf whole bean. I don't personally like their flavor, but Illy is more widely distributed and might be more likely to be in a local store.

James Hoffmann recently did a series on decaf coffee which culminated in a massive live tasting. I imagine all of the kits are sold out now, but the list of participating roasters should give you a good starting place to find roasters in Europe who are interested in quality decaf

@anytimesoon@feddit.uk well that’s impressive! Coincidentally I just ordered Hoffmann’s book so I guess it’s convenient pairing

I'll occasionally see decaf options from places like Tim Wendelboe, Nomad, Kawa, etc. The issue is they don't have a varied selection of decaf beans, usually just one or two options

I've been ordering from Trade for about 2 years now. They've got 45 decafs listed right now. You can go through them if you want, or you can look to see what roaster is selling something that sounds good and go to the source.

Mok in Belgium does a pretty decent decaf. That is my go-to. More expensive though because they are sustainable and work directly with farmers.

Lots of options here already, but I love the red rooster coffee decaf blend. I order most of my coffee from there and get decaf sometimes. Anything from a quality roaster will probably be good. I think the processing method makes a difference - the ones I like are mad with the Swiss water process

Rogue Wave Coffee Co in Edmonton, Canada do a yummy Colombian Decaf. They do other decaf roasts also but that's my fave.

I would probably try Kofio for the EU, but I don’t have any direct experience with them

I'm not too familiar with European roasters but when I was in Spain, I really enjoyed Syra Coffee. They do have a decaf blend available.

Irving Farms does. Utica Coffee Roasters do as well. I think Clermont down a bit from me does.

Upstate NY checking in.
