In reality, $44,000 of the payments to Politico came from USAid, for subscriptions to E&E, an energy-focused offshoot of the company, in 2023 and 2024, the Dispatch reported after reviewing the purchases.

Yes, their office paid for a service they provide that is not their news paper, nor was it just given to them. It also is no where near 8 million dollars. Beyond that, politico offers services that almost everyone in congress, GOP or DNC, pays for, that has nothing to do with their news paper
