With the YouTube influencers making mini labs and mini racks big right now, I'm surprised there's nothing happening here.

Be the change you want to see.

I wasn't aware of this community until seeing this post on all, but I've been posting some minilab material over on !Selfhost@slrpnk.net.

Apparently, it's all Intel's fault - the last post prior to yours was two years ago: "Intel Exiting the PC Business as it Stops Investment in the Intel NUC."

Just found this post on local, but shit, I'll bite. I've been thinking about hosting a Plex server or something on a little lenovo MPC I've got kicking around. Could you send or post some links to some videos about self hosting on small form factor machines? I'm sure I could google it, but let's keep these cool little communities alive.

Just reformat the mini PC using any linux OS you want and then install Tipi

Thanks for this tip, I’m absolutely going to try this out, I’ve been looking for an easier way to manage my services

If you have Windows already on the mini PC, then you don't need to reformat, and just use WSL2 and run Tipi within that.

Nice. I think I'd rather struggle and learn, but nice to know this exists.

Nice. I think I'd rather starve to near death foraging for my own food, but nice to know grocery stores exist.

Is what you sound like.

Ah. Thank you for the feedback. I will try to dial it down a bit. My intention was to say I'm in a gardening sub wanting to grow tomatoes. Buying is always an option, but wanting to grow them is the ultimate goal.

Never dial it down. You are wonderful the way you are. Just hoping there are people in your life that respect you enough to call you out on things occasionally without fear of being ostracized or ostracizing you.

I just think the homelabbing community is not super large already so it probably doesn't make much sense to split.

Currently working on my own 10" rack though.
