Quick Watch: Video content 10 minutes and under for when you have a bit of time to kill.

Rules:

  5. Videos should be in English, or not require any knowledge of the language for an English speaker to understand. Foreign-language videos with English subtitles are allowed.
  6. Preferably, videos are of high production value and should be informative & entertaining. Other kinds of well-produced and thoughtful videos are allowed. Niche interests are allowed if it can be enjoyed by someone who has no previous knowledge of the subject. If you are unsure, message a moderator.
  7. If a video is a few seconds longer than 10 minutes, it should still be okay. If it approaches 11 minutes, it had better be a very good video. Send the video to a moderator to find out if it can be posted. Videos that are 11 minutes or longer should be posted to another video-related community, like !mealtimevideos@lemmy.cafe.
  8. Comments that expound upon the subject of the video and offer more information are highly encouraged. Comments that link out to long-form content, including longer videos with additional information related to the parent video, are allowed.

As one of the most beloved animated shows ever put on TV, The Simpsons have gone through many ups and downs through it's run. The Simpsons has transformed more times than most, and it's unbelievable that most of the original cast has stayed. Though at one point Fox Executives decided to part ways with a beloved cast member, all seemingly over power dynamics and budget issues. But why exactly did The Simpsons team decide to let go of one of their voice actors, only to bring them back a few years later?

Click bait title. They didn't have to. It was a contract dispute. They could have given her a pay raise. Or they could have replaced the voice actress.

Solar Opposites replaced the lead voice with an actor that sounds completely different after the lead was revealed to be child predator.

Agreed, I just copy the video title as-is.

I will be conscious about not posting videos that say stuff like “you never knew this” or “you missed that,” they come across as derogatory so I generally don’t watch such videos in the first place.
