Getting real frames for anything can get pricey. The cheap ones do really suck though

The bed being shoved in the corner is a big red flag. Put that in the middle of the room so you can walk around both sides. If it is needlessly difficult to put the sheets on you can bet they don't get changed very often.

I like sleeping with a wall. My current room layout makes it better to leave the walls open (closets along one wall, sliding doors to outside on the other), but I prefer to sleep in the corner
