According to Binance, the funds received in the account were exchanged from Monero back into Bitcoins. According to the KRP report, most of the funds were again transferred onwards, this time in two different directions.

Binancen mukaan tilille tulleet varat vaihdettiin Moneroista takaisin Bitcoineiksi. KRP:n selvityksen mukaan suurin osa niistä siirrettiin jälleen eteenpäin, tällä kertaa kahteen eri suuntaan.

Another path followed by the KRP led police from Binance to an online service that promises to exchange virtual currency for cash instantly.

Toinen KRP:n seuraamista poluista johti poliisin Binancesta erääseen verkossa toimivaan palveluun, joka lupaa vaihtaa virtuaalivaluuttaa rahaksi välittömästi.

The dates of the transfers also coincided perfectly with the payments traced by the KRP.

Siirtojen ajankohdat myös menivät täydellisesti yksiin KRP:n jäljittämien maksujen kanssa.

the getmonero website should really remove the false "untraceable" claim and change it to "hardly traceable" or something similar. We all know statistical analysis is possible on Monero.

The guy should have waited and churned.

remove the false “untraceable” claim

Yes, we can't write “If your device is not compromised” and “If no one is looking over your shoulder when you use it” and “If you don't use an operating system that spies on and analyzes all processes” and “If you use apps that contain trackers and evaluate and spy on your processes” and and and - But of course all this applies among many other points.

The reasons you're stating are external. The reason I'm stating is about Monero itself. 15 decoys isn't even close to what would be needed.

Monero is untraceable if used correctly. Aleksanteri Kivimäki was not busted because of "Monero tracing". I don't believe anyone has, usually it is simple amount and timing analysis on the swaps in and out of Monero. If someone gets a 5000 XMR ransomware payment and a random guy suddenly deposits 5000 XMR into a centralized exchange, of course you can "trace" that but you are tracing metadata, not Monero itself. Monero is only one tool in the opsec belt.

There are many cases where you can be traced whether you use it correctly or not.

The untraceable claim is just marketing bullshit. Until the major issues are fixed, it will remain flawed and will give a false sense of security.

Few people here knows how to properly break traces, and using it normally isn’t the way to do it (even though it orders of magnitude better than every other cryptocurrency)

the system root did not have a defined password. Vastaamo data breach Aleksanteri Kivimäki was sentenced to six years and three months in prison.
