I could be forgetting some OSes, but I think this is the most interesting commercial desktop OS since BeOS. It is not GNU/Linux based, it doesn't use a Linux or BSD kernel, and it is not a descendant of or influenced by Unix. The open source components of it might be gain traction and become a usable alternative to GNU/Linux but I don't think it is likely.
