I watched the first 3 episodes of this show and didn't like it at all. The plot seemed silly and the characters a bit cringy. Am I missing something? Does it get better? Am I just wrong?

It's similar to FLCL but more sane. If it's not your jam, don't sweat it.

Does Solo Leveling have an episode early on where it suddenly gets better or something? I watched like 6 episodes and it's just violent and boring, I couldn't stick with it. Everybody sucks and even the leveling trope isn't used very interestingly. It's so well regarded though, I don't get the appeal.

The first 6 episodes of Gurren Lagann suck mostly, though, and then from ep 7 it's a masterpiece, so I guess it happens.

It's generic power fantasy with no substance. The art is pretty cool though, and it's well paced for what it is. I have read the entire thing, btw

Sadly, no. It really is just a generic power fantasy where the MC becomes stupidly powerful later. The fights get better but it's a popcorn flick, nothing about it is that good.
