If the old ones (in my case these came with the skates, made out of aluminium or some other metal) seem to be working fine, is there any gain in replacing these with some "higher quality" ones?

no, the spacers are for taking the internal stress, which persists as you screw the axles tight. It should be doing its job if you feel that the spacers are stiff.

If there is no spacers, then the stress goes into the bearings, bc the bearings are very fine and the elasticity of metal, the bearings can deform and roll slower.

The question was about replacing them, not taking them out. If there is a difference between having "these spacers" and "those spacers"
