Here's another pre-release version, coming in hot

This latest version includes several fixes to the previous one, including:

  • Fixed issue where replying from inbox would show grey screen
  • Fixed issues with profile posts/comments/saved not showing up all the way
  • Fixed issue with "save" being part of Talkback on posts
  • Removed saved tab when viewing user profiles (as I don't think thats a possibility)
  • Adjusted error messages when creating or editing comments

Again, like the last pre-release from this morning, the goal here is to just test out all of the general functionality and find any major outstanding issues or bugs that may affect a lot of users.

This will most likely be the last pre-release for v0.2.1+9 unless any major issues are noted! I plan to release v0.2.1+9 to everyone either later tonight or early tomorrow depending on if any major issues pop up

Thanks again for helping test these versions out! I really do appreciate all your efforts :D

Reposting here with my lemmy.world account because I feel like I'm being gaslighted by Lemmy at this point and you guys can't see my post

I apologize in advance if this is a Lemmy thing that I don’t understand but I’ve been noticing some content differences while using the Lemmy apps. I usually brushed those off as performance or API issues but I can’t with this one.

I’ve been closely following Thunder’s development so I was excited to see the nightly community but upon arrival it shows no posts and 5 subscribers. Checking from other apps I can see that there are 2 posts and ten times as many subscribers.

So is it an actual Thunder bug or a weird Lemmy feature ? I thought instances weren’t supposed to impact content ?

On top of that I've made that post to the nightly community on lemmy world but doesn't appear when we look at the community from lemmy world ?

Hey! Yeah, I'm not too sure how the instances sync up content between one another.

I think they should sync up automatically if they are federated together, but it might just be really backed up because of the influx of new users and traffic. I don't think this is a issue directly related to Thunder because I notice this behaviour has well in the web UI

Thanks for the reply ! You're right, post doesn't appear on the website either. A bit scary on the lemmy side but not a Thunder issue. Back to testing then :)

No worries! :D

Oh, I just checked and the post you mentioned finally shows up on the lemmy.world instance. I guess it is just a matter of delays with syncing due to how much traffic the instance is handling at the moment

For that post I think it's was definitely a Lemmy thing and I deleted that post when it appeared properly. But simmilarly, not all of my comments appear on my profile in Thunder. I have 5 comments on this account (all on the lemmy.world instance) :

  • Lemmy.world websites shows all 5
  • Thunder shows comment #1, #3 and #5

Might be little for a pattern but could it be an iteration issue ?

The v0.2.1-alpha.3+9 is still stuttering or feels like it switches between 120 and 60 Hz.

Just wanted to let you know 😀 .

Oh, could you elaborate a bit more? Where are you encountering the stuttering and what settings do you have on?

That'll help me determine which parts to better optimize in the future!

It's mostly happening in posts with alot of comments in them. Scrolling through the post feeds are fine now.

Just tested to scroll through the comments on a post with 13 comments. Was no stuttering there. But once i opened a post with 26-30 comments, there was stuttering.

I see - I’ll have to look into that for a future version then. I think the same issue that was plaguing the feed view is also affecting the comment section

Thanks for the quick checks!
