Years ago, when my first kid was about 2, a lady nearly ran us both over while backing up and not looking. She actually hit me, and I had to sit on her SUV's back bumper while holding my kid in the air by the arm. Should have pursued charges, but I honestly just wanted to get out of there a.s.a.p. She wasn't even going to stop and check afterwards, but I kicked her back window several times and made her get out. I'd love to see all cars dissappear and be replaced with public transit.
There's a reason why I call my bike kamakazi and deaths edge
Twice on a bike. Lucky enough to have biked away from one, walked away from the other. Neither driver stuck around.
Been hit once, lots of near misses. Luckily no major injuries. It sucks though, and has a huge chilling effect on getting people to bike.
Twice in roughly 38 years. Both my fault: riding a bicycle in the dark without light and in front of a car who couldn't see mee and once as a 12-year old racing into an intersection where the car clearly had the right of way (it hit me and was legally at fault since that is how it works here; my parents made me go to their house afterwards to apologise).
Nearly hit? Countless times. Been hit twice on my bike in the last month. Thankfully I walked (cycled) away with a bruised leg, but it was a close call.
Twice today. I don't keep a running tally.
One lady hit me and got my bike lodged in her car. She then continued to stare me down and slowly drive forward, dragging me with her...
I got free from her within like 30 seconds but it was so scary
Many many times, lost count, my dad was hit once but nothing serious
Few tight corners on busy main roads, big Lorry comes charging past and nearly knocks you off the street. But mostly the classic douche car shenagins
I've been hit twice!
First time, I was standing with two feet on the ground at a stop sign on the right side of the road where bicycles usually travel. A driver made a left turn and turned into the wrong side of the road where I was standing. I went up onto the hood and was launched when the car stopped. Thankfully I wore a helmet :)
Second time I was riding along in the periphery of the door zone and an open parking space came up on my right. A driver on my left, riding along with me, wanted to park in the space and hit me. This one was minor, I was more upset than anything.
Nearly hit a few more times
So many near misses. Been hit once on a roundabout. Thankfully walked away from that one unscathed. The driver paid for the damages to my bike.

Rules
-
Be nice to each other. Being aggressive or inflammatory towards other users will get you banned. Name calling or obvious trolling falls under that. Hate cars, hate the system, but not people. While some drivers definitely deserve some hate, most of them didn't choose car-centric life out of free will.
-
No bigotry or hate. Racism, transphobia, misogyny, ableism, homophobia, chauvinism, fat-shaming, body-shaming, stigmatization of people experiencing homeless or substance users, etc. are not tolerated. Don't use slurs. You can laugh at someone's fragile masculinity without associating it with their body. The correlation between car-culture and body weight is not an excuse for fat-shaming.

Stay on-topic. Submissions should be on-topic to the externalities of car culture in urban development and communities globally. Posting about alternatives to cars and car culture is fine. Don't post literal car fucking.
-
No traffic violence. Do not post depictions of traffic violence. NSFW or NSFL posts are not allowed. Gawking at crashes is not allowed. Be respectful to people who are a victim of traffic violence or otherwise traumatized by it. News articles about crashes and statistics about traffic violence are allowed. Glorifying traffic violence will get you banned.

No misinformation. Masks and vaccines save lives during a pandemic, climate change is real and anthropogenic - and denial of these and other established facts will get you banned. False or highly speculative titles will get your post deleted.
