In the formatting section when making a comment, there's a little emoji button, and the section with the asterisk-looking symbol has our custom emojis 
I just get the text "undefined" when I actually try to click on them though, so if that happens for you too, typing out the emoji should work.

It's inline code, which is pink in the theme you're using (it might be pink in all themes, idk).

Hello! How did you find out about this place? :O
i asked for an invite to another instance (shota.house) to someone! they told me i should go here first so i went! i'm not sure how invites work but this is a very reddit like place, so i think i'll manage!! how about you? :O
Just realized there was a "how about you" question, lol. I came over to Lemmy in the great Reddit API Migration and looked around for Lemmy servers/branches/instances. This server was advertised back then as being loli-friendly, so I thought it would be a great place to post memes (including those that Reddit wouldn't like to see in their push to be advertiser-friendly).
