What this all means, of course, is that we are going to need a LOT of volunteer labor and funds to develop it though, and for other programs such as a survival school, meal delivery programs for elders, clothing drives for winter, etc.

We are planning to break ground on a community center/free store as well as place to receive donations come spring.

In the meantime, more importantly than our own fundraiser is this one specifically for firewood for winter. There have already been freeze warnings in South Dakota as of yesterday.

We're all very excited about this, and the community services it will enable us to provide in the future! Thanks to everyone for your support!

Very cool! What's the history here, how did this come about?

That's a good question and comrade Sungmanitu and I are talking about setting up an AMA; We had planned one a little while back but had to cancel due to scheduling issues (we're very busy and they are working two jobs right now). They have family out there and this started out basically as just trying to keep people from freezing in the winter and put food on tables, but we are now beginning to have the resources to enact some more impactful long term solutions, like home repairs, a constant source of firewood for winter, new homes, a new community center and distribution center/warehouse for mutual aid and inventorying donations.

This past August we provided a whole lot of supplies, porta potties, and a whole buffalo for the Sundance. We fed ~100 people for 5 days. That was when we all had our first in person meeting of sorts for this org afaik.

I've known Sungmanitu from the Marx Madness discord for about a year. (They are the ne co-host who joined during The Red Deal series).
