Where are all the status quo centrists coming from? (lemm.ee)

Feels like all of a sudden every thread I open has the worst takes in the comments: religious apologists, conservative propagandists, people defending the worst abuses of power, people stanning for CEOs, middle managers and other corporate ghouls, people defending shitty landlords, etc.

Is this Reddit now? Is this going to be the death of Lemmy as a bastion of progressives?

I'm not a fan.

I've been noticing it as well. I believe it is caused by the influx of normal redditors due to spez, but the nice thing about the fediverse is that there are enough instances with policies that create an environment that dissuades such people. Beehaw is a great example.
