So it turns out most of what reddit is and was was created and maintained by its unpaid users. Access to and use of it was vastly improved by third party apps and tools, the website itself was actually pretty shit.

It's like that one time I hosted my own forum, forgot about it, and one day my hosting provider sent me an email saying I was way over my data quota. What a shit show that forum tuned into.
