Had a situation this arvo when I had to pair program with someone and I forgot to bring my mouse to work. Having to run startx and then start vscode is a bit jarring and a line-of-thought breaker for me.

It would be great if someone made this! But it seems like it’s not possible because they have the project closed source and no official protocol specification.🤔

Not OP but VSCode has a plugin called Live Sharing that allows remote collaboration on a workspace, with independent cursors, navigation, files opened, etc. It's fantastic, honestly, and it's one of the few things that'll prompt me to open vsc over emacs when the need arises. I believe OP is asking whether there is an emacs package allowing interop with it so his pair can use vsc and her can continue to work in emacs.

I was thinking about that some short item ago as well, to bea ble to communicate and use emacs in combination with all my colleges using vscode
