I recently asked this as well. I have a line of credit/Visa through my bank and an AMEX card. No balance on AMEX, small balance on Visa.

At this moment, there doesn't seem to be a true 100% Canadian credit card to compare/compete with the big US cards (ie Visa, MC, AMEX). Think of the HUGE amount of $$$ the US collects from us in interest/annual fees. Is this $$$ even considered in the "trade imbalance" between ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ and ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ?

It's pretty difficult for most of us to get by in the modern world without having access to a CC. I don't know if you can even book a hotel room or rent a car without one. For online shopping, usually the only options for payment I've seen are CC or PAYPAL. There used to be an option for Interac but it doesn't seem to be as common antmore. We could opt for no-fee cards and pay the balance off every month, but I know not everyone can afford to do that. Some are living hand to mouth and buying groceries with their CC.

It would be amazing if we ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ had our own CC. I'd switch in a heartbeat.

Have you looked online at The Cape Breton Beard Factory?

Credit cards. Not like a Canadian Tire card, but the equivalent of Visa, MasterCard or AMEX. I have a line of credit through my bank, but it's tied in with Visa. Think of the amount of $ we give the US through interest and/or annual fees! Would it be in the billions?

WHY isn't there a Canadian credit card?

We ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ have been yelling at ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ for months now, "Boycott, protest, do SOMETHING!" Very happy to see them take action against the orange shitgibbon and his '88' fanatics. Well done! We're doing what we can by boycotting the US, but it ultimately falls to the ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฒ people to clean up their own house.

Perhaps I just missed it, but I didn't see any support from local government, such as Mayors or Governors, speaking at the protests. Oh, well. Carry on without them and remember who stood with you and who hid under their desk.

I got a 7 day ban from Reddit for 'violence' on a shit-posting sub. I suggested our beloved Bonhomme go stomp on the Whitehouse. Apparently, the US is so butthurt from the reaming Drumpf and Elmo are giving them, that they're scared of a snowman from Quรฉbec. Makes me proud.

Horrific. I do not condone the terrible actions of Hamas, but Netanyahu and the IDF are absolute monsters. This same comment got me a 3 day ban from Reddit for "hate" against Israel. (Ignoring that I referred to Hamas as terrible. I guess Israel has special privileges or something) We'll see what happens here.

They don't have a clue.

I was put on a 3 day ban for "hate" because I commented about the ongoing Palestine/Israel conflicts. Basically, I said Hamas committed a horrible act but the IDF/Netanyahu have also done terrible things. To be clear, I said BOTH groups have blood on their hands.

I was banned, but commenters who condemned Hamas/Palestine and called for ALL of them to be killed and then PRAISED the IDF/Netanyahu for killing them, were NOT banned.

Apparently, we are only allowed to speak out against one particular group ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ธ โ˜ช๏ธ. The other group ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ ๐Ÿ•Ž, is absolutely innocent, perfect, and has never harmed anyone. Allegedly.

We'll see if THIS gets deleted.

Canceled Prime weeks ago and done with Amazon. Unsubscribed to all US websites. We always prefered to buy locally, but would occasionally jump the fence. No more jumping. If it's not either local, made in Canada, or Product of Canada, we're doing without.
