Everything seems to be fine: I had to reload in all the apps and on the desktop. Just a thing, when using the phothon UI I had to manually delete my old session and open a new one with my account, because when I log on again there were two sessions for my account.
- Left Reddit for Lemmy, only came back several times to seek for specific information in a couple of niche communities
- Started using Firefox again, both in desktop and mobile
- Opened a nextcloud account, with plans to host our own when we have a little more free time
- Autohosted FreshRSS
- Started with Sonarr, Radarr, jellyfin and so on (you can guess what for)
- Mastodon is now my main social network
- Stopped using Windows. If I have to use some applications to interact with my clients I prefer to do it via cloud.
Not that sure. Maybe a big chunk of it are, but there is a lot of people like me coming from reddit that signed yesterday, after doing some research and watching how things were here and on kbin.
Regarding the bots issues, new signups at lemmy.world were closed yesterday for several hours because of attempts to create spammy accounts. So maybe a mix of real accounts and spammy ones.
I was trying to open my account just when lemmy.world was closed earlier. When I pressed the button to create it I only got and enless "charging" animation. But when it reopened, I just started the process again, and was as easy as a breeze and extremely fast. Glad to be here! (and this is my first post)
You can show the also the other UIs for the web. Photon is quite decent, the default is not very attractive as you say.
