The 'why' came as a shock to the studio. "While we strive to ship most titles submitted to us," Steam's automated response read, "we found that this title features themes, imagery, or descriptions that we won't distribute. Regardless of a developer's intentions with their product, we will not distribute content that appears, in our judgment, to depict sexual conduct involving a minor. While every product submitted is unique, if your product features this representation—even in a subtle way that could be defined as a 'grey area'—it will be rejected by Steam."

Nor, says Pietro, would Valve elaborate on its rejection, despite repeated requests for clear answers in the months that followed. "Did they think that the protagonist looked too young?," he ponders, "Did they think that the horses look too young? Did they think that some of the actors in the live-action sequence looked young?" In a lengthy FAQ detailing the ban, now available on its website, Santa Ragione notes all characters in Horses are "clearly older than 20 years old, as communicated by their appearance and through dialogue and documents that you will encounter in the game."

Yeah gonna have to disagree with you there chief. This is some dumbass stupid censorship. You can play games on steam where you bend people over a bar and fuck them.

Those people are also older than 20 years old. So what makes this different?

This is surely some of the fallout of MasterCard and Visa swinging their dicks around and being pouty that humans like sex and some people want to consume legal content that contains it. (Edit: actually this one point doesn't stand as he said later that this was before Valve bowed down to the financial processing overlords and did mass adult bans)

The way they are forcing AI on everyone and into every aspect of their browser especially when a large part of the people who use Firefox hates that shit is going to end Firefox.

The reason you don't hear it about all those other browsers is because people have always known they don't give a fuck what the end user wants.

Firefox used to be different. But all good things deteriorate over time. Watching it happen in real time to a browser we all use and used to love is why you see it so much posted especially in places with like minded individuals like Lemmy.

You could always try using hardware vendors with better support and customer service.

If you're in the USA I would wait until the dickhead in charge is gone or else you might wake up to find he told Taiwan to eat his ass and charge 600% tariffs on all goods coming from them.

I mean its a joke, but how unlikely would it be really?

[–] BD89 26 points 2 months ago

Yes they will absolutely fuck you on it IF they even allow it at all.

You know, in the spirit of "free markets" and all that bull shit.

Could you actually do this? I assumed it would all be some weird proprietary hardware that wouldn't work in a regular computer setup but I've never really read up on it.

Lol pricing computer parts like they do fish in an expensive restaurant.

What a time to be alive.

I know it isn't specific to just Linux but I use Linux anyway so my question is,

Is there a way you could use a VPN without them knowing that? Or if they outlaw them is it really just game over?

If they made VPNs illegal I suppose stuff like TOR would follow except TOR is partly funded by the US state department and the US is one of my countries closest allies (one of the five eyes). So surely they wouldn't shut down something the US funds directly... Would they?

I've read very very little about Gemini and other protocols like Gopher, would this be the way forward if they do this? And is that even remotely close to the security and potential anonymity you would receive from a VPN?

So I downloaded Cyberpunk 2077 from DODI and I ran the serup.exe through steam and installed via Proton but now I can't figure out how to run the game. What am I doing wrong?

I tried this last time and it didn't work and I went to support and got scammed on telegram. Lesson learned, but I still have like $50 worth of render I'd like to switch over to the Sol render so I can actually sell it and get out of this shit coin. Please, what do I do? Will any solana wallet work to receive it? Wtf is a wormhole? I hate projects like this that can't just keep things the way they are and instead fuck everyone with their shit "upgrades"

I am looking to build a Linux gaming machine with open source firmware and Intel ME disabled. Is this viable?

I'm just not sure what I am doing wrong here. It boots on every single other computer in the house (3 different ones) but when I try to do a single boot on my system 76 laptop it just won't do it. What am I doing wrong?? It has custom firmware on it

I know crypto.com charges it as a cash advance and so does Kraken. Are their any options that don't? I called the CC company and they said its up to the exchange how they "label the charge"

I know I see the little button that does it automatically but I don't want to use that I want to know how to do it correctly. -Problem is, every guide says to use the .asc file. I don't have that, tails gave me a .IMG file, a .SIG file, and then I downloaded a tails-signing.key file. How do I manually verify this file with just those files?

Does anyone know an unfreezable stablecoin that is the least at risk of becomming another TerraLuna? I love Monero but its too volatile to keep 100% of my life savings in an unfreezable stablecoin is CRUCIAL. This is such horrible news. Fuck Rune Christiansen for this shit!!

You can read about it on their blog. Its over. Does anyone know any other unfreezable stablecoins? Honestly this might be the end of crypto for me. I truly can't believe they are doing this.
