For the context, it's not about killing it. The old and the new communities currently have the same number of weekly active users ( https://lemmyverse.net/communities?order=active )

There is now a script that allows to ping everyone who posted in a community to move to another one. Example: https://feddit.org/post/6859490 / !football@lemmy.world

It's more a migration than anything else.

Could be, the communities I have on lemm.ee are about movies and TV shows, so pretty chill in that regard.
