IIRC, the reason titles are like that now, is that japanese people stopped reading light novel descriptions, so this is how the publishers made up for it.

Is the only point of a copy like that for re-encoding? I assume you can do so with minimal loss in quality

i havent read the documents but i assume this would be in japanese courts, where it pretty much a guaranteed loss on yuzu's part.

From what I understand it is some thing for AI, to stop them from harvesting or to poison the data, by having it repeating therefore more likely to show up.
