She said she purchased them months ago from an Asian supermarket but can’t remember where. No doubt a cash transaction. I don’t believe for a second she purchased those commercially as there would doubtless be other contaminated batches if so.

People capitalising on their kids for social media fame is pretty repugnant. I think you have to be a certain kind of narcissist to turn that into a career for them at that age.

Congrats Aussies, very well played. The turnout here in NZ and over in Oz has been awesome too. Crowd definitely got their value from this game.

I’m on Starlink as well, and it’s a game changer. Similar wisp situation where I’m at (Wairarapa), but as I deliver a lot of online training I also have a backup 4g connection with some carefully placed antennas. Starlink means the whole family can be online, downloading, watching videos etc while I can still work. 4g can manage when it’s just me.

I’ll give Starlink an 11.248, as it’s pretty bloody amazing and been super reliable for a dish you can take pretty much anywhere in the country (or on a boat as is my future plan)

I’m on both, but using memmy on iOS I really don’t even notice which instance I’m on anymore. It takes me back to using Apollo

If they actually fight Zuck is absolutely going to wipe the floor with Musk. A black belt in BJJ is no joke. Plus I’m pretty sure he’s a robot too.

Currently reading 11-22-63. Pretty bloody grim and depressing in places, but good enough to hold my attention.

Finished Locked In by John Scalzi not long prior. Great thought experiment considering it was written long before covid too.

You can plant the vegetable directly and it will just grow from there. I’d probably sprout it inside for a bit first (think a bit like potatoes getting eyes) and then just half bury it in the ground. We just used some we got from the local veggie market.

Awesome. Subbed from lemmy.world. I’m a huge tea geek. The tea ceremonies in China are like meditation to me - one of the things I loved while living there. Look forward to seeing what goes on in the community.

I do IT work, mainly remote and the occasional business trip. Based near Masterton, so 1.5 hours to airports in either direction either Welly or Palmy. It’s big enough to have most of what I need, and close enough I can get anywhere quick enough. Housing is way cheaper. Quality of life and community feeling just way better for us. Recommended.

No clogging issues or anything? The after result looks mint.

Yeah I’m in this comment and I’m not sure I like it.

But it does take me back to the shift from Digg to Reddit. My Reddit account (16+years) was older than so many users on the site. Nuts to think about it. The vibe changed massively over the years.
