Hello from Lemmy! Can you see this or do I need to @ you?

And we see the post, but I don't think it has a title.

Eta: @uhrbaan@mastodon.social?

Edit2: it's a title now!

OK setting aside the Q thing, am I the only one who had a weird number of those growing up?

[-] CrayonMaster@midwest.social 11 points 7 months ago

But people who don't return carts are just as bad as landlords???

[-] CrayonMaster@midwest.social 8 points 7 months ago

I had a dm who would tell us to roll. And then say "you fail" before hearing the number

I think the main complaint isn't a quality question, it's that most people here don't trust Meta to act in good faith. There's a sense that they'll come in, make the fedivirse as dependent as possible, then pull out. Defederating on principle is more of an independence thing.

I agree with you for the quality thing, I rarely see mastodon here, there's no reason to think we'll be flooded with threads.

Network neutrality is the idea that internet service providers (ISPs) should treat all data that travels over their networks fairly, without discrimination in favor of particular apps, sites or services

The FCC will meet on October 19th to vote on proposing Title II reclassification that would support accompanying net neutrality protections

For me the most shocking part is that he's willing to admit Twitter lost so much value. I thought he was still on the "it's finally turning a profit thanks to my brilliant leadership" train.

a) well that's fucking terrifying

b) did they really end that with an ad for baby cameras? Or was that a blank ad fill-in-the-blank thing?

I mean yeah, but it happens even more with the naming scheme in the original post. Most companies just add a number when that happens. Predictable naming schemes, at least as the default, make it a lot easier to find people in large companies.

Basically what it say on the tin. I just finished Parable of the Sower (Octavia Butler) and I loved it. Any suggestions on what else I might like? It's been a while since I got into a scifi novel.

Edit: It's come to my attention that there's a sequel. I'll start there then. Thank you everyone!
