It is a requirement of both Android and iOS app stores to have a policy prominently displayed for users.

This seems shitty for consumers, but I think it's not new shit - it's just a window into the reality of exploitation we have all been living with our entire lives and it's uncomfortable to confront that giant turd we don't like to think about.

Retailers like maximum profit and they are going to point to supply/demand to justify it. With these digital price tags, they're just equipped to do it more quickly and more often.

At first, I was thinking: What if I grab an item from the shelf and then it's 20% more expensive by the time I get to checkout. Then, I realized they're just going to claim I saw the final price on the checkout summary and should have denied the purchase at that time.

If we legislate anything, it should be the clarity around checkout/returns imo.

lol

It feels like the novelty of an attempted XPOTUS assassination wore off in less than 48 hours. That's crazy.

Nobody around me is even talking about this anymore - not at work, not on social, not at the grocery store, nowhere.

Idk if that's due to everyone being super jaded or because it's Trump. If it's because it's him, then I wonder if it's because nobody gives a shit about him or if it's just not surprising someone would take a shot at him or just because it's irrelevant to his candidacy or what else.

When you have privacy settings, what you really have is a lie.

It starts out with good intentions, like those in this post, but eventually everyone forgets that the platform still sees your posts and does not give a shit about selling them.

I would rather acknowledge from the very beginning that this entire system is not private, so there is never such a misunderstanding.

Everyone should post and comment with caution, just like you use caution with what you say in public places.

Didn't these jokers already try to overthrow their capital city, angling for a total annexation of Ukraine within the first few days of the conflict?

If Ukraine had not fought back, it's statehood would have been history over a year ago.

People's Park was a major local landmark with a long history that is well known to students, faculty, residents, and alumni. It had become a home to otherwise homeless people whose existence was inconvenient for the university's expansion plans and an eyesore to arrogant passersby.

The park's history includes both civil and violent disobedience, including against the university itself.

It would not be surprising to hear that, whatever is built on this lot, it is subsequently destroyed by an act of arson or other vandalism.

I am surprised they are taking the risk and making the investment at all. IMO it would have been safer to just buy some of the private properties surrounding the park instead, even at a premium.

They should make a sequel even if half the cast can’t return. Just replace them with backup characters!

Don’t glue it shut, paint it shut with an acrylic paint or nail polish. Try to stick to the surface with the paint - you could even paint it to cover it/obscure it’s location as well.

This way, if you ever need to remove it you can delicately dab acetone over it to dissolve the acrylic and it will open once again!

That Cruz quote is insane. Net neutrality will not be easily sold to the public as “radically left-wing”. Nobody is going to believe that shit.

It literally has neutrality right in the name!
