I don't type good sometimes when I'm on the go and I make things redundant. In this case it even changed the meaning. I tried to go edit my comment but I got back a 500 error

JESUS CHRIST that shit frustrates me so much. First past the post is the very best way to make sure no ones votes count. There are way better systems than ranked choice voting, but if we can't even get that much done, of course were not going to ask for those. All we are asking is to move off the very worst voting system there is

But he does have a whole hell of a lot to do with whether or not Trump should lead and in a two party system you have to take that into consideration. I'm in a place where at this current moment our entire focus needs to be on not allowing Donald Trump to become president. The Democrats as a whole have severely fucked up. Biden shouldn't have run again. Some democrats who weren't Joe Biden should have primaried against him. The Democrats need to start trying to appeal more to rural voters, possibly by offering tax rebates for things like gas tax to farmers (and I'm not in favor of propping up petroleum products, I'm just also not in favor of punishing people who's livelihoods depend on gas and diesel instead of the REAL polluters like Shell Oil, British Petroleum, and Garmin). They need to start realizing by playing compromise games with the republicans they're just capitulating and letting the republicans slowly implement fascism, which has been their goal since the late 1960s. Also we as voters need to stop being cicadas, being loud and noticeable in cycles. We need to spend the next four years organizing ourselves and breaking the system.

There are two parties in America. There's the fascists, and the fascist collaborators. In the time between now and election day our best bet is probably the fascist collaborators. But goddamn, let's make 2025 local elections different. Let's show them that we are many and they are few in 2026 for Congress, and in 2028, let's finally get a real difference maker into the white house with a political environment that allows them to do the things they want to do. I'm tired of having a split legislative and executive branch because progressives don't show up for midterms

We could take away Elon Musks obscene wealth, leave him with enough to experience no material change in quality of life, and pay every other american who isn't him $7,000k. And he's just one of 735 billionaires. We could tax the shit out of these people and neither they nor us would notice a difference at time, but then when it was time to provide social benefits from government programs, everyone would notice "wow. Doesn't this country work so much better? Look at all the things we can fund!"

Pair programming over the net. The old school way is tmux and vim but to do that you and your partner need port 22 open and most enterprises are gonna be like "hell no you can't let people connect to your company owned work laptop SSH into your machine"

Pretty common feature. Sublime, Lapce, VS Code, certain Emacs distributions, certain NeoVim GUIs... We live in a world where a lot of people have GPUs and CPUs aren't getting faster so if you want to get more work done (ie, running LSPs, tree sitter, completion engines, snippet engines, debuggers etc) you need to offload some of that work somewhere

In the grand scheme of ethics... Probably immediately. There's nothing about the police or the legal system that entitles them to moral superiority. They're just richer and have more time on their hands. Keep in mind the legal system is the same legal system that gave us citizens united, two calamitous wars in West Asia, and golden parachutes for rich criminals. They're just a system of exploitation that makes sure their favored corporations get to exploit everything and everyone while we're all too poor and hungry to fight back because they've made it sink or swim for us

It has Microsoft BLObs baked in as part of the build process. VS Codium is the FLOSS distribution of VS code's open source code. Liveshare doesn't appear in the package repo Codium uses (because of the Microsoft BLObs it contains as an extension). For work I manually download the live share extension VSX and load it into vscodium

He was also heavily inspired by racist fantasy novels. I'm not here to say he was an active racist (someone who promotes racist views) but he was for sure a passive racist (someone who doesn't recognize racist literature when its right in front of them).

I'm not even trying to say we need to cancel Gygax for passive racism. I'm just saying we need to assess the roots of tabletop role playing and figure out how to keep the good parts while abandoning the bad parts. And part of that means discussing that the pulp fiction of the 20s, 30s, and 40s that Gygax was drawing from was HORRIBLY racist.

I've been really happy with the following lately:

16g:275ml coffee:water, coffee ground on the fine side of medium. Wet paper filter, 205 degrees Fahrenheit water, conventional brew, 10 minute extraction, swirl to settle grounds to bottom of the press, and a gentle plunge.

It's considerably more work than a prismo recipe, but I think its well worth it

For any non Americans, the largest interstates are one or two digits, divisible by 5. This particular collapse occurred in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
