While true there is the Artemis app for Kbin. Due to the API issue it only supports their .camp instance for accounts. It’s a beautiful app
I absolutely do realise how much they’re asking. This could simply be a dream. There’s no harm in that. They could be a dev and have others to help them build some version of this. This doesn’t need hundreds of people. You realise that Mastodon and others didn’t take hundreds of full time employees?
They may not be able to build this exact experience and or it may take them a very long time but with some compromises this is absolutely doable and affordable
They absolutely do not. You’re using a platform that has algorithms. When people make comments like these it shows a lack of understanding of what algorithms are.
Those of us that are using Fediverse platforms are using platforms with algorithms
Where did they mention anything about corporate?
I joined Kbin due to a Mastodon post around launch. I currently use Camp instance as I’m a beta tester for Artemis.
On Lemmy I join ml as that was what people on Reddit were doing. I’m beta testing Bean app. Artemis and Bean are two of the best and most beautiful apps.
What’s CAM?
I am a big fan of Claude 2, it’s very accurate and detailed. It’s also more current than GPT4 dataset (at least what’s public)
I wish, the content needs to get much better. I wish some good YouTube channels would also upload their videos to PeerTube
NieR Replicant and or Final Fantasy 7
People don’t care about the tech stack of Big Social, but they’re not talking just about ActivityPub. When they go to Facebook and Twitter they do not have to select an instance. They create an account and boom. It would be disingenuous to compare and state that Mastodon offers the exact same. That’s more what people means that it’s too techie.
It’s not just frictionless. Plus, due to the maturity and the fact that the communities people care about are already on those platforms the ends justify the means for users.
