It's a dumb headline because there are definitely people paying attention, just not the right people.

I remember playing this game when it first came out as a mobile game. Super cool concept, but I also remember hearing the drama from the start. I definitely thought this game had been abandoned a looong time ago.

The article did mention that black mothers are much more likely to have CPS called on them when coming in for prenatal care and that legal matters around pregnancy "overwhelmingly target black and brown women". The article seems to support that notion. However, there are a lot of elements to this case that make it very unique, even without racial consideration.

Effective planning. It's very easy to say " I'm doing this today and that tomorrow" but how realistic is that? Know how to break something down into its component pieces and be able complete them along a schedule. It's basically project management, but for everyday stuff. It helps immensely to be able to tackle big projects and recognize that things are progressing even though the project still isn't done. Hugely helpful for stress management.

This is not necessarily a long term thing, but as the holiday season creeps up, things like 'favorite utensils' posts might gain some traction for people looking for gift ideas.

I really hope they're successful. The ideals they're working towards are great, but something I've learned at every point in life is that people like things easy. They like to be spoon fed, and the algorithms do exactly that. People need to want something different and that's where I fear the biggest hurdle will be.

Glad to see we've progressed in a hundred years time...

Non profit mindfulness apps are so much nicer when you don't have the ads or pressure to go premium. Healthy Minds is another one by a non profit that I use.

Yeah, I'll figure out if that's a county police thing or specifically animal control. We live out in the middle of almost-nowhere, so I'll start with county police.

Looks like this is pretty unanimously solved. Bit of backstory (not that you asked)- neighbor got got 2 kittens in May/June for his daughter. They're freaking adorable so whenever they wandered over to our house, we gave them lots of attention. They had been spending more and more time camped out on our porch furniture in the past month and then I found this just today. I'm going to talk to the guy and see what's up. I'm concerned they are only interested in animals while they're small and cute because last year they had a young dog that's no longer there, this is the second pair of kittens they've had this year (one of the first pair I still see sulking around at night, but I'm pretty sure it's feral now. No idea what happened to number 2), and now they have a new puppy again.

Thanks all!

See pics, found this thing well healed in my cat's tail. Came out with no resistance and no bleeding. Looks like a tip to something, but not sure. Cat is less than 6 months old. Thoughts? The grooves you see are from my pliers. It's hollow and seems to be aluminum or some other soft metal.

Edit:

Minor second edit: I made a mistake about their pets. The first dog mentioned above was actually the house next to the neighbors in question. Those neighbors had moved, which is why the dog is no longer here.

This guy, Dr. Glaucomflecken also does a ton of skits, some funny, some critical. For his most recent ones he did a satirical set, 30 days of US Healthcare, and they were both funny and depressing. I did not know some of the stuff he mentioned in those. Worth the watch.

Wow, that's a pretty cool bot. Kudos to whoever programmed this one.
