I'm dense what are the other pairs that are off

It's because everything is now UI driven and done for them. They didn't have to debug or solve computer issues. It's a sad state of affairs that the better technology gets the less the population understands it. I'd say, with respect to this post, millennials may be the only generation that can truly problem solve tech, both past and future.

It is chatgpt. If the AI doesn't know something or it's too new (post 2021) it will make up stuff (hallucinations they call it).

The request was for a "News article about Australia sending emus to Ukraine for the war"

Read this and bought in on the PS4 last night. Finished it today and I will say the PC would have probably been a better experience but it was still a joy.

They updated to a release candidate for better cpu performance, maybe the performance is a result of not doing everything 😂

US was supposed to get the metric system but alas... Pirates

The reason the Fahrenheit scale does not put the freezing point of water at 0 degrees as the Celsius scale does is that Daniel Fahrenheit, the inventor of the scale, did not use the freezing and boiling points of water as the basis of his scale.

As for the date formatting, here is an interesting read on it and how it relays more information faster.

If you aren't bothered then your portion goes to everyone else. If only one person signs up they get it all. If you don't register you are still involved as the class action and US Law means you give up your right to file a claim ever in the future for the same offenses. Only way to be able to is to write the courts requesting to be excluded.

In short it's happening so they can buy me a burger cause I'm never going to do anything about it.

I feel strongly about setting a precedent of removing communities for whatever reason

As a long time former lurker I'm trying to go based on active conversation, others saying what I had to say, and if it's something I'm interested in devoting time to. I'd say that is my criteria and not really how old the post is. The content.

I think from our instances view point it doesn't matter as much because as you said we have open registration. Having that open registration is what has led to us being defederated by other instances however with a longer approval process. So in the lens of the whole, they make use of that.

As for the purposes of us defederating an instance it would be

  • bots/spams as others have said
  • legal issues as part of the federation is importing that content posted by that instance (so I think having references to that content could make us vulnerable to issues with it). Again not sure on this one but for performance reasons could see the implementation being as such.
