For those interested, Garnier is a brand of L'Oréal. Nestlé does own about 20% of L'Oréal shares, but is not directly involved in Garnier. I'm sorry but I'm sceptical you'll be able to find some mass-produced product not made by a company at least partially owned by assholes...

It is too! Galette des rois is what we traditionally eat during epiphany. It is most often a puff pastry with almond-flavoured custard (frangipane), but there are other kinds too. More generally, galette is a generic word for a round and flat object.

The sun creates a big gravity well. The earth happens to be quite close to the top of this well (because of the inverse square low). It takes about the same energy to go down and up the gravitational well.

Note: some French regions also call them "galettes", either depending on the type of flour used, or on the type of toppings (sweet for crêpes, salty for galettes).
