Did the big beautiful bill make it through?

I stopped playing, and until they patch in an easier mode… I won’t get to experience the rest of the story. It’s been a great story, so far, too.

How many Americans had even a little knowledge of these different cultures prior to Disney making mainstream and popular movies?

[–] NJSpradlin@lemmy.world 52 points 3 days ago (45 children)

is there truly a movement against Disney’s Cultural Appropriation or are these just examples of Disney sharing or bringing cultures to the mainstream?

I mean, the post is just a joke, but is the underlying theme at least something people really care about? More than they care about the representation these movies have given to these cultures?

Has new information come out pointing to a Democrat, then?

[–] NJSpradlin@lemmy.world 5 points 4 days ago

The article has been updated to include that since the posting and my original comment.

No, I did. My point is that they’re passively skating around it in this case, but in the case of the Tesla incidences that I’m referencing they very actively come out with ‘terrorism’ first.

Just don’t go through a border control point or run into the police while wearing it.

Exactly, erasing these things threatens to erase history. Granted, this is a bad case to defend as a historical landmark of slavery, since it was being used as a venue and resort, and therefore glorifying a southern culture ~~largely~~ wholly made from the enslavement of Africans.

Seeing the difference in labeling this as ‘it might be terrorism but we need to investigate first’ vs a spray painted Tesla dealership being immediately labeled terrorism… is all you really need to know about where the gov’t stands.

That sounds suspiciously like they’re avoiding calling it ‘an act of terrorism’… which is even more suspicious being that lighting a Tesla on fire or spray painting a Tesla dealership would immediately be called terrorism, but this hasn’t been. Hmmm.

Edit: the FBI has determined that it was an intentional act of terrorism at this point.

Regarding confederate statues, I believe the only place they should be… is in their cemeteries. They should remove them from public lands and place them in the cemeteries.

This plantation house was used as a resort, so that’s a little off putting, and glorifying the history instead of being a sobering reminder of atrocity. I would have rather it be given over to the local government and turned into a museum against slavery. But, even then with how much the south glorifies the confederacy, the state wouldn’t have done a good job showing the evils of plantations like this.

Like the title, I have a small DIY project where I’m going to put a gerbil tunnel system connecting two of the enclosures in the image together. Because the transparent window is thin clear plastic they aren’t really strong enough to handle any force at where the tunnels will connect to the windows.

So, I want to put stabilizing bars connecting both enclosures together at their frame. I’m thinking like a 1”x1” hard plastic bar, that’s 6”-12” long, at the corners of the window that lock into square plates that have three sides lifted (“c” style) to slot and lock the bar into. I don’t know what this would be called. Idk where I would find it. But, this seems like something I’ve seen before and should exist.

Does anything come to mind?
