Lol, you don't get to choose to not pay taxes. You either own nothing and are unemployed, or you are a child.
Such a hilarious statement to think you can just fight the IRS.

I fully understand why you guys did this and it is certainly a solution to the problem above.
That being said, I really do not like this change.
I would go into detail about the reasons why, but I feel like this topic has been hashed out a few times before. So everyone should know why people are for and against this change.
(I am only posting this comment because the other way to show disapproval has now been removed.)
Holy heck. The punchline is not that he is gay. No one is laughing just because he is gay. They find it funny because of the irony of the situation.
Man... You are going to have a rough life if you can't comprehend basic irony.
Ha, glad you have a strong enough stomach to sift through the worst of the Fediverse. Sorry you have to go through that. I have no doubt everyone here appreciates your diligence.
I found that "mistake of fact" retort hilarious.
She obviously took it as a personal insult, but the whole debate is based on her own mistaken identification. So it is hard to address the topic without also seeming to target the person.
Most news seems to be doom and gloom so I enjoy the occasional tit pic thrown in there to break up the stream of depressing content.
Obviously I would just turn off nsfw when in public, but otherwise having it mixed in is nice.
You had handled this as perfectly and professionally as one could.
It is unfortunate that she could not accept your reasoning and still chose to defederate.
Ha, man that sucks. Glad the transition went smoothly.
TBH this place has some strict rules regarding content so I am surprised that an ISP would even care. I'm guessing since this instance still hosts LGBT content it could put someone in hot water in some more morally strict countries.
First a back-end mod tries to poison the well. Now an admin tries to sabotage the servers. Seditionists everywhere!
I am curious how you knew who reported the server? Did the ISP inform you, or did the ex-admin tell you afterwards as some act of defiance? And what even caused them to do this in the first place?
Edit: Misread server provider as service provider. Please disregard the ISP related questions.
I dont like the idea of defederation, but I understand your justifications for these specific instances.
I find the idea of defederating lemmit.online an odd one. Is there a legal reason to do this? Or is it just because you don't want users of our instance to see reddit content? I don't quite understand the justification here. (I personally just have their communities blocked)
Thanks for creating this place. No one should be upset at you for hanging up the hat.
I'm sure everyone understands that moderating us degenerates is task that takes a heavy toll on one's sanity.
Wishing you the best on your future projects!
Yeah, all this seems completely reasonable.
In WH40k a rouge trader (depicted above) is basically a noble with a giant paper document signed by God stating they can literally do whatever they want and no authority (aside from the inquisition) can tell them otherwise.
