I don't use Youtube; Chrome; or Google Search. I use Abrowser which doesn't play with DRM so I don't visit those sites. I use Ublock origin; Jshelter; Privacy Badger; and LibReDirect. I did this for years before even coming to this thread. It's as simple as making choices which support your values. Google and the like will never change to support your values. Just ditch them and change your behavior.

The only thing regarding Windows that should be on any privacy guide is the recommendation to leave Windows.

I don't care if people are willing to give up their own privacy but it infuriates me when they're willing to try to force me to give up mine.

I gave the A770 a try a few months ago and ended up returning it after a few days. I'd be open to trying it again down the road.

Anyone saying they care about privacy but their software is closed source is an idiot at best or a liar at worst. I have zero trust or faith in such a person.

I'm not sure what the issue is with ethics. The only thing keeping me from using AirVPN is they're based in Italy which is a fourteen eyes country.

I would imagine the reason is much the opposite of why I sought out a instance like Burggit: I want as little censorship as possible while lemmy.ml seems to want a lot based on their rules list.
