Won't be rolled out in GDPR countries, for sure.

Guaranteeing that every individual has the same rights independently of their sex, sexual orientation, race, skin color and so on... Shouldn't be neither left nor right. It just should be. It's just common sense.

There are plenty of another topic for the left vs right to debate. Leave identity politics out of it and just let people live like they want.

But GDPR is the European thing, and Threads isn't even available in Europe.

Just stop voting old dudes period. A white old dude is as unsuitable to govern as a non-white old dude.

Vote for younger and more progressive generation.

Amazing! While here, I have a suggestion to make in regards to monetization: I was a Reddit Pro/Ultra user. I am now a "Pro" user on Lemmy aka "Remove Ads". Let's assume I stick to Lemmy for a year or so and eventually decide to go for Ultra because of whatever reasons. Because Ultra already includes the "Remove Ads", would not it make sense to have an alternative upgrade path from "Remove Ads" to Ultra with the adjusted cost?

241 and 328 were driving me mad :) Great update!

P. S. Is there a way to explore non-home instance "local" feed?

I think we need to stay federated. This is not a kindergarten and people can chose what to read and what not.

If we start de-federating every time someone gets offended and set precedent, we will end up de-federating from everything eventually because guess what: there is always someone getting offended for whatever reason. This is internet, grow up.

The neutral stance is the main reason I joined this instance. The moment this changes - I am out.

I got it for 15. Is it expensive for ad removal? Yes. Is it too expensive? No, for me personally no. I wanted to support the dev and I did it. Also It's the only app I am going to use until Lemmy is no more.

Remove ads is a one time purchase that removes ads. Forever.

Ultra is a subscription service

There is a new option to remove ads forever for 15. No subscriptions.

Before I spend money (15 eur is not cheap, but is worth it for this app, imo), I want to know if it's not just a visual ad removal but the data collection and all the tracking gets actually disabled. I don't want to pay for ad removal. I want to pay to keep my data mine.

Does it just remove the ads visualization or actually disables all related data collection and tracking?
