I'm kind of enjoying it. I translate things sometimes. Most of the time, I don't. I'm just really happy to have social media that isn't an authoritarian, walled garden, filtered for engagement, and segregated by culture. Lemmy may be small, but it's diversity is really strong. It does create situations in which I can't appreciate the content sometimes, but I'm happy that it's there for its intended audience in a way that I can see. It's nice to feel included in things that aren't specifically for me.
Personally, I find it unwise to antagonize a demographic that has no problem lying in cover, alone, watching the environment through a scope for potential threats for an extended period of time.
What am I supposed to do? Let them walk around with no more information about high-pressure liquid chromatography than God gives to a squirrel? I think not! These people vote.
