I will say that I don't live in the UK, so maybe it works differently. I'm assuming internet plans include some kind of service contract you have to sign, and minors can't legally sign contracts without parental consent. So every internet connection is the responsibility of the adult who did sign it. If kids are going to be using it then it is their responsibility to put parental controls on their network and devices.

But like the other response said, its not actually about protecting kids. Basically, if a politician ever says those words, its almost certainly an attempt to take away freedom.

What happened to the assumtion that people on the internet are all adults. No kid is signing a contract for a phone or internet plan. They are on the internet through the permission of an adult who has. Its the responsibility of that adult to make sure they don't do anything they shouldn't. Don't make it other people's problem that you can't control your kids. We shouldn't try to kid-proof the world.

Wasn't the whole point of that announcement to make the stock price of the company that owns the patent for Tylenol plummet so that some donor to this administration could buy the company cheaply?

I know this is just semantics, but is it really "beyond earth's orbit"? If the moon orbits the earth, then isn't the moon still in earth's orbit?

It just doesn't feel as exciting as it should be. It feels more like a distraction from everything else. With all the cuts to NASA's budget, I'm just waiting for them to cancel the whole Artemis program..

Most mass shootings are done with a rifle, which is a bit more difficult to conceal. And yeah if everything goes to plan for the shooter and they keep it concealed then it would only be a matter of seconds, but there's always a chance that cops, given the opportunity for guns to be something to be on the lookout for, will be able to step in sooner.

If open carry is legal then any psycho could commit mass murder at any second, and no cops or anybody could do anything until after they start opening fire. On the other hand, if it is illegal then cops could step in at the first sight of a gun.

I haven't watched much animation since I was a kid outside of occasionally South Park, Family Guy, or the Simpsons, but I haven't really watched even those in the last few years. Then a year or two ago I watched ATLA and LoK after. I just finished a re-watch and am now on a bit of an animation kick. After those I tried Blue Eye Samurai and Arcane, and both where great. Now I'm watching Legend of Vox Machina and Mighty Nein. So far so good. Oh and of course I've been keeping up with Invincible. I guess im looking for more suggestions similar to those, but I can be a bit picky. I thought AoT was good during the first several seasons, but I got lost with the plot and haven't watched the last few.

"I've got friends everywhere"

An EMERGENCY ad campaign at that. Labeling it as an emergency allowed them to skip the bidding process and just give it straight to her friends.

If Dickens is Dickensian, then Seuss should be Seussian.

Imagine for a second just how much arrogance it would take to think society would collapse without you...

Is this a declaration of civil war? We all know their use of the term "terrorist organizations" is bullshit, so they are really just saying that they are going to start killing US citizens without due process on American soil. This general needs to be court martialed. He is not upholding his oath to the constitution.

The way I understand it is the farther away a object is the faster it is moving away from us, but also the farther away something is the older it is. So could that mean things were moving apart faster in the past but are slowing down?

I've somewhat recently become addicted to audiobooks. Every time I'm in my car or doing something mindless I put on an audiobook. I had a good stretch of one book I liked after another but now am looking to dig a little deeper. The books I've listened to so far were all books that I kept seeing being recommended over and over again.

Dungeon Crawler Carl Expeditionary Force Bobiverse Project Hail Mary The Martian The Expanse The Children of Time The Silo series Murderbot

Am I missing anything that gets consistently recommended?

What would you recommend that would fit with that list?

Other books I've tried but didn't love

Three body problem The Witcher books Wheel of Time

We know pretty well what matter is and how it interacts with the others.

Dark matter interacts through gravity but not light. Beyond that I haven't heard much else.

And lastly anti-matter has an opposite charge and interacts with matter through annihilation. I think I remember hearing that it would react with dark matter the same way.

So my question is, does anti-dark matter exist, and what are it's properties?

I'll be going on a road trip to Yellowstone with my family and won't be able to smoke. I'm planning on taking a cart with me to hit at night before bed, so I'll be able to sleep. My concern is that I remember hearing when Colorado first legalized weed there were checkpoints on the Wyoming border. It would be packed away in my luggage, so unless there's a dog I'm not really that worried. So I guess my question is does Wyoming have border checkpoints with drug dogs?
