I had this exact scenario with a substitute teacher when I was in Kindergarten because I made a purple tree, and accidentally destroyed her because she said "Real trees aren't purple" to which I replied "I know, but this isn't a real tree it's a coloring page and I like purple". She was pissed and my mom was called, who pretty much agreed with me. My normal teacher Mrs.K would have been like fuck yeah dude purple trees, but she was sick that day lol.

There's too much real tragedy in life to worry about things like the triviality of one's (or their SO's) interests. Enjoy what you enjoy, and let others do the same, especially your partner. Hobbies and interests are important, and minimizing someone's interests (especially someone that respects you) can have a long lasting effect. Nothing huge, but that slight little doubt you created in their mind will always just sit in the background any time she talks about it with anyone else.
