As a former SBC kid, I'm more shocked they would kick out one of their highest grossing businesses out, purely from financial standpoint. Typically, they used to just gloss over this stuff and pretend they didn't know.

I just started using Uber and it's an actual godsend for me at this point in my life. But I want to bring my spouse along sometimes obviously so is that something I have to let Uber know somehow or is it just straight up "up to x amount of people"?

Agreed. My instance went down earlier but it's just struggling to keep up with influx like mastodon did a while back.

In my area (metro big city), the only way to get anything accomplished from an advocacy/fundraising aspect is through facebook. There's just no alternative unless literally everyone shifts to an alternative that hasn't been created yet.
