I dunno man plenty of science shows that being put to death does basically fuck-all to prevent other people from committing the same kind of crimes. You can hide behind the hope that they're cowards all you want, but that's still leaning on assumptions.

And I think you'd be shocked to find out how wrong you are. You're describing my high school years. Guess what? Fighting back made it worse.

So proud of the violent brainrot, too.

american tourists regularly do catch and win against pickpockets

I'm gonna need a lot more evidence than a single article posted on... *checks notes... medium.com, a site where literally anyone can post a story.

Football players still very often fail to actually tackle someone even when they try.

That's literally why insurance exists and is a foundational principle in most modern societies, but uhm, go ahead and keep living in the stone age.

This erroneously assumes new fascists aren't being born every day. It also erroneously assumes that the threat of retribution deters things like fascism, or crime in general. It's a weird sort of eugenics where "if we just kill all the fascists there won't be anymore ever."

For credit cards and debit cards I can instantly cancel, get replaced, and have any money spent returned to my accounts? Yeah, I definitely let someone walk all over me by having 20 minutes of inconvenience instead of violently trying to ruin that persons life over 20 minutes of inconvenience. Lmao, violent brainrot.

and that sometimes changes things for the better.

And a lot of times it changes it for the worse, too. What even is this argument?

Lmao, what are you even trying to say here, dude? Get a grip. Calm down. So fuckin angry at the idea that someone questions your violent tendencies. Gee, I wonder if that anger is proof in itself of your violent tendencies.

Co-sponsored by Republican state Sen. Jeff Barta, the legislation allows tenants to petition to have eviction records sealed after seven years, if they’ve resolved any outstanding rent or damages and stayed eviction-free during that time.

Seems like small potatoes to me. That can be hard to do if you're struggling and have been evicted already.

Lmao, sure I love cookies.

I just want to know if reports are failing for anyone else and if we need to be making some kind of plea to the admins/moderation teams/developers to try to fix it.

Because not being able to report this obvious spam is a problem.

We are getting reports of YouTube rolling out an experiment to some accounts where normal videos only have DRM formats available on the tv (TVHTML5) Innertube client.

This is not limited to yt-dlp. Tests have been run with the same account on various official YouTube TV clients (PS3, web browser, apple tv) and they are also only getting DRM formats for videos.

We live in hell-world.

this one is called "too short haiku"

Right from the start
I was stabbed in the heart
Didn't know I wasn't breathing
Didn't know I had been bleeding

Opened my door
Thought I was alone but
Someone was hiding
In a dark room in my home

Hum it, you will remember some of it
But if you solve it you will remember all of it

Creeper in my home, crawled in through the window
I grabbed a kitchen knife, couldn't stick it in though
Creeper had his own, shining in the moonlight
My home was very cold, and something didn't feel right

Right from the start
I was stabbed in the heart
Didn't know I wasn't breathing
Didn't know I had been bleeding

Opened my door
Thought I was not alone, but
Someone was hiding in the dark room in my home

I woke up thirsty on an island in the sea
I woke up hungry with hungry cougars surrounding me
I hit the soft spot on the soft spot on my head
It made me tired so I sung from my bed
"I'm ready to die, I'm ready to die, I'm ready to die"

A sword, a switchblade, any way you cut it
I'm not afraid, I know I'm going to get it
Oh, maker of such fine products
As palm trees, and the dead sea

Don't pardon me, there's nothing rude
Things conclude, things conclude!

As I slurred that chorus
The ghosts got Biggie Small sounds like a drill
The death sweat suits me
A death threat provides a thrill
I've seen the world, kissed all the pretty girls
I've said my goodbyes and now I'm ready to die

i tried to write a
good haiku but it was one
syllable short

Nearly two full hours of step-by-step instruction details the use of computer-generated curve picks, rockers, magnetic lock picking, lock-aid guns, and electronic picks in this revolutionary video.

You'll see the craft of picking pin tumbler, wafer, tubular cylinder and padlocks; quick, undetectable methods for beating the most popular locks in the U.S.; and opening safes via drilling, burning bars, thermite and the European explosive method.

Whether you're a locksmith, cop, detective or just a concerned citizen, you cannot afford to miss this exceptional tape.

What it says on the tin. Power management is set to turn my monitors off after a set amount of time. They all instantly come back on. I have resorted to using a screen saver in X11 until this is solved.

Three monitors, different brands: one hdmi->hdmi, one dp->hdmi, dp->dvi (pc->monitor)

Only one of the monitors have input auto-switching and that is disabled.

I am losing my mind even the cli xset dpms force off (X11) or kscreen-doctor --dpms off (Wayland) just has them come back on seconds later.

All the A/V cables are new.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
