Recently encountered a bug when looking at some posts, the post that triggered this to happen to me is this meme post. It made my entire phone freeze, disabling the ability to change apps, open the power menu, go to the home screen, or basically anything. Apple changed the method to hard reset phones some time ago, if you don't know how to reset your iPhone without a functioning UI then read this apple page.

I have AdGuard premium but it’s definitely caused by Noir. I can toggle it on and off while on the website and it changes from warning me about hacker news to the actual website in real time.

I’d agree but the message on the website specifies it’s triggered by hacker news AND dark mode. I’m on iOS with the Noir extension for my browser so perhaps whatever dark mode method you’re using isn’t detected the same way.

Slightly off topic but is there a smart person out there that can explain why having dark mode on makes this website think I’m from “hacker news” and block me (I didn’t even know what hacker news was before today). I’m not a web developer and just genuinely curious how dark mode users get lumped together with an entire website I’ve never heard of before.

This update is great I’m really loving the way this app looks and behaves compared to a lot of the competition. I was wondering if it’s possible to implement some kind of full width swipe back feature. Like the one in Apollo that lets you swipe to the previous screen from anywhere, not just from the left side. If I recall, you had to disable the other guestures in order to use it, but my memory might be fuzzy. Either way the app is fantastic, keep up the great work.

If you enjoy city builder games you might wanna try Songs of Syx out. You basically build an empire containing potentially thousands of citizens. There’s no way I could possibly do the game justice in a comment, so you might wanna check out a let’s play or the Steam page

Yeah the post I was commenting on randomly changed to a different post while I was in the middle of writing it and didn't notice

For me that game is Tears of the Kingdom. It has a lot of really good ideas and even execution but there are so many aspects of the game that make me wish to never return to it again. The battery power being held behind a grind, the time limit on some the things you can build (wings for example), the repetitive caves scattered all across the map, the repetitive grind of clearing all the shrines and all the light bulbs under ground. And worst of all the the intense babying of the player as if they have no awareness. I remember doing the wind temple and walking into a room with only a single thing in it and Tulin still paused the game to point out the only object in the entire room. That's just one example, every major dungeon and shrine will eventually pause gameplay to show / explain something to the player that is already clearly conveyed by the level design. I know if I press the button in the shrine that a door will open, but the game still pauses the game to show me the door opening, even if I am 1 foot away from the door when it opens.

The shrines in general are extremely disappointing to me, just as the BOTW ones were. They rarely make you think of a solution, instead making the solution appear incredibly obvious the moment you enter the shrine. There are combat tutorial shrines that you may miss and come back to 20 hours into your playthrough only to get stuck in an unskippable tutorial on how to block or something.

Another thing that really rubbed me the wrong way was the re-use of the Hyrule map just with changes to it. I think they should've focused on the Sky Islands for the majority of the gameplay, you couldn't imagine my disappointment when 30 minutes into the game I jumped down to Hyrule and slowly realized I was going to spend most of my time in Hyrule (again) instead of the Sky. The underground area is really cool conceptually but I find myself just flying around on machines with lights attached to them because it feels so EMPTY. And the loot often isn't enticing enough to go explore the hundreds of rock-blocked tunnels in the game.

And the enemies are so incredibly easy, most of the time landing a single hit will stun the enemy, then you can just mash till you knock them on the ground, and if they're still alive you can shoot an arrow into them or run up and attack more. The combat isn't very deep, the flurry rush mechanic's timing seems inconsistent, and sometimes seems to not work at all. It's overall a good game, don't get me wrong, but IMO it's not the flawless masterpiece a lot of people are making it seem like.

I love to see Slackware representation in these threads, easily my favorite distribution of all time.

I wish I could fully adopt him but unfortunately I’m not allowed to keep any pets. But he has a little home under my deck and I feed him and we hang out so it’s kind of like a spiritual adoption.

On Reddit anytime I saw direct linked pirated media it was always just Base64 encoded. I’ve found direct links to entire Switch games just sitting in a random Reddit comment for weeks or months because it was in Base64, so that might be safe to use. I’m still a bit unfamiliar with Lemmy but to my knowledge the instances are hosted by regular people not corporations, so it would probably depend on the people running the instance, or the legality of piracy where they live / host the server. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong like I said I’m still new
