Not the biggest deal-breaker, so polled is good enough for me since it is a low priority channel for me anyways.

Oh yeah totally agree with you. Got a Google Coral stick the other day after waiting for OK prices and it's a really nice game changer if you have cameras around the house. Managed to get notifications when my cats are nearby, all through Home Assistant.

Yeah trying to keep Reddit activity to a minimum myself. Not missing it tbh, other than troubleshooting posts through the years lol

What happens if lemmy.world or any other instance goes down without notice? Then there'd be a void of communities for a while right, or do other instances keep backups of some sort? Thinking about this now that .world gets tons of attention.
